Physical Activity Evaluation and Scale-up Fora

We recently delivered five regional events across England to help develop skills and promote local collaborations for evaluating and scaling-up physical activity programmes.

The events were funded by Public Health England and delivered as a collaboration between Public Health England, ourselves, the National Centre for Sport and Exercise Medicine and the County Sports Partnership Network. They were designed to address the “Moving at Scale” domain of Public Health England’s Everybody Active Every Day physical activity framework based on identifying successful programmes and implementing them on a bigger scale.

The events attracted a total of 45 speakers delivering presentations and workshops based on evaluating physical activity interventions.

Workshop presentations

Dr Robert Copeland - Planning your intervention: Using evidence, engaging stakeholders and assessing needs

Dr Nick Cavill - Using innovative approaches to strengthen evaluation study design

Emma Adams - Identifying outcomes and selecting measurement tools
